SPICY GARLIC TOFU 🧄 the recipe that might turn you into a tofu lover! by @herbifoods

Tofu is a perfect carrier of flavor and by following a few simple steps it gets a nicely chewy and crunchy consistency! Try this recipe and tell me tofu is boring... 😉

RECIPE (2 portions)
- 450 g extra firm tofu
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp olive/sesame oil
- salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp gochujang chili paste (or hot sauce)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp olive/sesame oil
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1 medium shallot
- 1-2 red hot chilis
- 2 spring onions

❶ Mix tofu, cornstarch salt and pepper. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake at 180°C for 20-30 minutes until crispy.
❷ Mix maple syrup, chili paste, rice wine vinegar and soy sauce.
❸ In a pan sauté garlic, shallot, chilis and spring onions in a little bit of oil for 4-5 minutes. Reduce heat and add the sauce. Cook for another 3-5 minutes until it has thickened.
❹ Add the tofu back to the pan and stir until well combined.
❺ Serve with rice, stir-fried veggies or however you prefer and enjoy!
